Elegantly Styled Coquette Outfits for Spring and Summer!
In this post, I’ll share several of my elegantly styled coquette outfits for the Spring and Summer seasons.
This trend is very popular at the moment, but I caution you not to follow it blindly. Instead, stick to classic styling rules that suit your body shape, personal color palette and unique personality.
Coquette style can be timeless and is a great way to incorporate more lace, corsets, pastels, chiffon, and soft feminine fabrics into your wardrobe more often.
Key Points to Remember:
- Body Shape:ย Always consider your body shape when choosing outfits. What looks good on one person might not suit another.
- Color Palette:ย Stick to colors that complement your skin tone. This will enhance your overall look and make you feel more confident.
- Timeless Pieces:ย Invest in timeless pieces that you can mix and match with trendy items. This ensures your wardrobe remains versatile and stylish.
By following these tips, you can embrace the coquette style while maintaining a classic and elegant look and reduce textile waste.

Delicate Jewelery & Accessories
In this look, I’ve paired white silk gloves with bow details with a white cube purse and a wide-brim white Audrey Hepburn-style hat.
Take a closer look at the detials of the white lace heels with pearl strap details for more feminine footwear inspiration.
Pro Style Tip: Incorporate classic elements of feminine fashion by shopping for 1950s-style dresses. They are timeless, elegant, and very coquette (ish) in how they are cut to exemplify the female form.
Micro Mini Dresses
Micro mini dresses and skirts are a staple in a feminine capsule collection. If you have lean and long legs, then don’t be afraid to show them off at any age.
I’m styling a forest green, 1960s micro mini dress with a bow detail on the chest that I found on Etsy for $40. I paired it with a chunky gold pearl necklace (1960s vintage jewelry), gold sphere earrings as well as white platform loafers.
Pro Style Tip: When styling micro mini dresses and skirts, look for 1960s vintage dresses online and in vintage shops near you. In that era, the dresses were tailored to perfection for petite women.
Romantic Corset-inspired Pieces
In this look, I’ve styled a gold corset with bow shoulder straps with a black satin ruffle mini skirt and tweed slingback mule high heels with gold toe tips.
Pro Style Tip: Consider your body shape and choose silhouettes that flatter your figure. If you’re shorter in the legs, then wear above-the-knee skirts vs. full-length. If you’re long and lean, then you can wear both long or short skirts.
Flowing Chiffon Garments
In this look, I’m styling a pink polka dot chiffon blouse two ways. One way is with a pleated high-waist tennis skirt. This is a perfect lunch/brunch outfit for the daytime.
The second way is to pair the same soft chiffon blouse with a high-waist pair of white capri pants for a more mature look. This could easily be worn to the office or a corporate event.
Pro Style Tip: Embrace your color palette and incorporate bright prints to add pops of color to your outfit. Different hues of pink can complement almost any skin tone.
Big Bows & Feminine Feather Footwear
The bigger the bows, the better when it comes to Coquette-inspired style!
In this look, I’ve styled a vintage 1980s satin and chiffon dress with pale pink ostrich feather pointy-toe kitten heel mules.
I’ve used a round white ostrich feather purse to complement my furry feminine footwear in this look. Cat-eye sunglasses are also a great way to finish off feminine styles.
Closing the Closet
