Master Closet Organization: Stylist Secrets to Triple Your Space βœ…

Your stylist should understand wardrobe organization as well as they understand personal style 🚨

Let’s use me as an example, I love being the living example of the work I do as a stylist.

I’m a virtual stylist who specializes not only in personal styling/shopping but also closet/wardrobe organization.

Organization is the key to being able to see everything you own in order to effortlessly put together looks.

I recently moved into a newly renovated apartment that was a great upgrade for me. I documented exactly how I transformed my new 350 square foot bedroom into a functional and fashionable space.

Check out how my bedroom looked on move in day below.

Now, you see how I maximized my wardrobe space in the following image. This is maximalism at it’s finest darling.

Voila! I now have a fully organized, optimized and beautiful space to sleep and pull clothes for work from everyday.

My Top 3 Closet Organization Tips βœ”οΈ

Tip #1: Optimize your Vertical Space

When you are thinking about closet organization most people think wide. However, you should think equal parts width of your room with how high your ceiling is. All of this space can be optimized.

See how much vertical space is being optimized below on top of my two wardrobes on this wall below.

Tip #2: Shoes are an art form and can/should on display in your wardrobe

Most people throw their shoes in the bottom of a dark closet and can’t see their shoes until they go on a scavenger hunt. Not to mention, improper shoe storage leads to scuffs, unnecessary damage and loss of shape longer term. Store your shoes using storage space optimizers to display them like art seen in the image below.

Note: When you have discovered your own unique feminine style you’ll have shoes worth putting on display!

Tip #3: Color Coordination is Key!

Color coordination is like dividing you wardrobe into chapters for your lifestyle. You have your darker tones , lighter tones, pattern/ prints all organized together. This type of cohesion makes your clothes easier to identify but also helps you color block your outfits.

See how all my dark/light clothing is segmented in the image below.

Note: When you color coordinate your wardrobe this also prevents color transfer from dark to lights saving your clothes from temperature shifts that may cause color bleeding.

Final Closet Organization Thoughts

How you do one thing is how you do everything when it comes to style. If you’re closet is a mess, it speaks to what’s going on deeper in your life. It doesn’t have to be perfect but it needs to be more organized than not.

Keep in mind, I’m a stylist, and my wardrobe is vast. I need to be able to pull a lot of looks since I use myself as a model for my outfit creations. You don’t need as many wardrobes as I do to look/feel your best.

The key is intention meeting organization when we look at our wardrobes. When you keep things organized it’s so much easier to dress to impress yourself with ease and grace vs chaos and stress.

When you don’t have the time or an understanding to figure out closet organization yourself, you need to hire a professional. I have an incredible “12 Steps to Sober Style Program” that includes a Closet Organization/Mindset Alignment service here.
