How to Dress for a Lunch Date in San Diego

Another week another story told through personal style. Today let’s dive into some details of my day date in San Diego. Where I go to escape the brutality of Tijuana at least once a week.

I really wanted to treat myself to a proper steak lunch so I searched what the top places where in San Diego and ended up choosing Del Frisco’s Steakhouse. I didn’t only choose it because it was the top rated restaurant. I chose this location because it said it had a strict business casual dress code enforced. That honestly had me a little bit intimidated with my highly visible ink and the dress I wanted to wear did show a little skin. This told me that I would be dining in a corporate/conservative style environment.

Especially around lunch time. Which I’ve been pushing myself to do more and more of being an alternative power tool performer. I run my own business it’s just online and not at an office. My office is wherever I go. It could be beach run for my training, or a street shop styling looks for Metal Mouth Style. I find it incredibly important to mix in more in conservative environments because there’s not enough people like me there! Even if it’s intimidating at first.

If we truly want to stop being so divided then we must stop self segregating ourselves! Things will never change if we all keep sticking to the same friend circles, groups, ideals and places we go. In order for change to happen on a grand scale then it’s truly on us as individuals. We must keep stepping farther and farther outside of our comfort zones. The great thing about this is your voting without relying on a government or system. Your voting for the society you want by putting down your time & money in places you may not feel welcome going too. Your changing peoples minds about races/groups of people by being different yet putting your best fucking food forward. People pick up on that whether you realize it or not. Mixing more is how change happens.

All in all I’m glad I went to Del Frisco’s Steakhouse. The hostess who sat me said she loved my outfit and was sweet. The other one that showed up later glared at me on my way out because clearly my look was shocking to her. That’s fine man. I’m not here for anyone’s approval. I’m here to explore, experience and try to enjoy every last bit of joy there in this life between all the struggle to survive in the digital world. I’d recommend this spot if you want a great cut of steak and impeccable wait staff. It’s worth the hefty price tag. I can’t do this weekly but once a month I can certainly justify on my budget.

Treat yourself & find a place that makes you slightly uncomfortable to go to. Please for the sake of humanity. Just like my over-sized blazer and sequin dress today.. Mix it UP!
